MY LIFE IN A SUITCASE

Ho pubblicato da qualche giorno un post sul mio viaggio a Parigi, e ho iniziato questo post di nuovo in movimento, questa volta su un treno per Roma. Partenza decisa due ore prima, giusto il tempo per passare a casa e prendere la valigia. Per fortuna che il beauty è sempre pronto con tutto l’occorente (per i viaggi ho un doppione di tutto l’essenziale) e ho infilato nel trolley le classiche prime due cose venute alla mano.

I posted a few days ago on my trip to Paris, and I started this post on the move again, this time on a train to Rome. Decided two hours before departure, just in time to go home and take the suitcase. Luckyly, the beautycase is always ready with everything I need (for travel I duplicate all the essentials) and I put in the trolley the first things that came to hand.

Anche questo un viaggio di lavoro, che apre due settimane frenetiche, in cui macinerò una quantità di km che non oso nemmeno immaginare. Domenica avrò giusto il tempo di fare un paio di lavatrici, stirare l’occorrente e partire per Monaco. Tornerò Mercoledì e poi a fine settimana (ancora non ho ben preciso quando), partirò per Hong Kong. Visto che cominceremo a lavorare martedì vorrei partire sabato per regalarmi un paio di gg in questa metropoli. Ma di questo vi parlerò al mio ritorno! L'opening della casa, di cui avrei dovuto sistemare le ultime cose in questi giorni, è rimandato a ottobre.

This is also a business trip, which opens two weeks in which I'll go for a quantity of miles that I dare not even imagine. Sunday I will have just enough time to make a couple of washing, ironing and then I'll leave for Munich. I'll be back Wednesday and then at the weekend (I'm not pretty sure when at the time), I will leave for Hong Kong. Since we will start working from Tuesday to Saturday I hope to have a couple of extra days in this metropolis. But I will talk when I get back! The opening of the house, that I should fix the last things these days, is postponed to October.

Scrivo questo post, se non si fosse capito, per parlarvi della valigia. Io sono un disastro nella preparazione, e dimentico sempre qualcosa (mi sovviene ora di non aver preso nulla per dormire) oppure mi ritrovo con le cose “sbagliate”per il clima locale (a Parigi un jeans e una maglia acquistati da Zara mi hanno salvata dal congelamento).  Ma ci sono diversi modi per ovviare al problema della valigia perfetta!

I write this post to speak of the suitcase. I am a disaster in the preparation, and I always forget something (I remember now not taking sleepwear) or I find myself with the things "wrong" for the local climate (in Paris a jeans and a shirt purchased at Zara saved me from freezing). But there are several ways to overcome the perfect bag!

Il primo, il più classico, quello della lista: carta e penna alla mano fate una lista di quello che vi serve dal primo all’ultimo giorno di viaggio. Magari pensate a quali capi potrebbero essere versatili, oppure agli accessori giusti che si abbinano a tutto. Riponete le cose da quelle che userete prima a quelle dopo, riempiendo gli spazi vuoti con i sacchetti degli accessori e i vari necesseire. Sono molto carine le bustine per riporre l’intimo. Io solitamente utilizzo la seconda tasca per riporre le cose da lavare. Io evito come la peste i tessuti che si spiegazzano facilmente come il jersey e la seta (oppure dovrei portare un ferro da stiro da viaggio). Se volete però portare tutto, allora leggete queste indicazioni, sono preziose!

My method, doing a list: make a list of what you need from the first to the last day of travel. Maybe think about what clothes might be versatile, or the right accessories that match with everything. Put those things that you will use last on bottom, filling the gaps with bags and various accessories and beauty bag. They are very cute sachets for storing underwear. I usually use the second pocket for storing things to wash. I avoid  fabrics that wrinkle easily like jersey and silk (or should I bring a travel iron). But if you want to take everything, then read these guidelines, are precious!

Volete una lista tecnologica? L’app di Kayak, numero uno per i viaggi, vi offre diverse liste precompilate in base alla tipologia di viaggio (lavoro, turismo etc), quindi basta semplicemente spuntare le voci già inserite ed è fatto…

Do you want a tech list ? The Kayak app, number one for travelers, offers several pre-compiled lists based on the type of trip (work, tourism, etc.), then simply check the items you have already entered and is done.
